Cartoonists Rosie Brooks, Kathryn Lamb, Surreal McCoy & Chichi Parish have hooked up to form team Big Girls Drawers. We will be taking part in the highly entertaining Big Draw Battle of the Cartoonist at the V&A museum in London on Sunday 30 September 2012.
The Battle of the Cartoonists kicks off at 2.30pm until 4.30pm in the Raphael Cartoon Gallery. Big Girls Drawers will be lashing our pencils (sharpened with our incisors- I would say that wouldn’t I, and wit ) against dastardly cartoon teams from The Guardian, The Telegraph, The Sun, Reader’s Digest, Private Eye, and Procartoonists. We aim to wallop the other teams, perhaps hopefully reducing them to weep real salt tears. I’ve almost finished hand embroidering commemorative hankies for the other teams to weep into once they have been pulverised by Team Big Girls Drawers. What a lovely gesture, I say! The jury is by public vote, so if you are free, and you fancy rooting for team Big Girls Draws, then pop along to the V&A. Come over and meet our team, say ‘hello.’ We’d love to see you there. The Big Draw, Big Make at the V&A offers cartoon workshops, talks and demonstrations by top creatives in the industry on Sunday 30th of September 2012. See you there,
Cheerio, (now back to my bed time reading, but which book shall it be tonight? The Art of Winning or Sun Tzu’s, The Art of War? )
Here is our team in action, with Libby Purves MC’ing in the background.
