It’s taken me a year and a half to finish the 2nd draft of my novella. Yes, I’m slow. I’m pleased with the story line (so far), now I need to fill the skeleton with a lot more meat and then inject some soul juice into it. Only a thousand more re-writes. Writing for me, is like giving birth to a dustbin exceedingly slowly indeed. Still, it’s all good experience. That’s what I keep reminding myself.
Here is a sketch of the voluptuous Mrs Larmour who features in the piece. I adore her, actually I love all the characters.
On a more personal note, since moving studio, I have felt great reluctance to work in it. I need monastic conditions (that’s the Catholic in me) but the boiler is set on constant rattle. I have tried several brands of ear plugs from French wax to expandable foam. Neither work. If you can suggest anything better, do let me know. webMsLcarriage
